After School Club and Crèche

The crèche continues to enable parents with young children to join our Fast Track course in preparation for employment.

The After-School Club operates a waiting list of people who wish to join. Making it fun to learn is essential! Games, skipping and ball games use up pent-up energy and encourage exercising and computer sessions, art & craft and games activities ensure that there is never a dull moment

Our Healthy Minds and Bodies project introduces children to creating fun but healthy meals for festivals (Halloween and Christmas), making Healthy Christmas Stockings with five portions of fruit to go in them, and introducing personal hygiene – cleanliness, dental hygiene, etc. The children have even learned some sign language to enable them to understand more fully the needs of Deaf people and found out about the ethnic diversity of food patterns.

In 2008 we have introduced recycled art activities, making puppets, masks, flowers and Eyes of Light from fabric scraps, plastic bottles and milk cartons! The children's gardening club will be growing vegetables, fruit and flowers in our award-winning Peace Garden, which won a prize in London's Green Corner Awards 2007.
